Know Before You Go

Getting around the area:

  • Conference location: Bethel University, 3900 Bethel Drive, Saint Paul, MN 55112.

  • The closest airport to Bethel University is the Minneapolis / St. Paul airport (MSP) about a 30-45 minute drive.

  • Conference attendees flying in will need to plan their own transportation from the airport. MSP airport ground transportation options can be found on the airport website. Lyft or Uber would be about $40 for four people.

  • A private CIVA Facebook group is available for registered attendees and a good place to find out who else is arriving at the same time as you and to organize ride sharing.

Parking

Main lot is West Lot, closest to the conference events.

Closest parking to dorm is East Lot.

Registration / Check In will be in the Academic Center Atrium and is available:

  • 2 - 5 PM, Wednesday, June 12

  • 8:30 AM - 5 PM*, Thursday - Saturday, June 13-15

    * If you will be arriving on campus later than 5 PM please Dawn Anderson (danderson@civa.org) know ahead of time and plan to check in with the guard at the West gate entrance.

What to wear:

  • Comfortable, casual attire

  • Layers for Minnesota summers which can be cool in the morning or evening (high 70’s daytime, high 50’s nighttime)

Lodging

Affordable lodging and meals are available on campus in Bethel University dormitory suites.  Attendees are also welcome to commute or arrange their own housing. Respect our host site and clean up after yourself.

Please note: no alcohol is allowed on campus

  • What is provided in Bethel dorm suites?

    • Linen packs: sheet set, pillow, blanket, a bath towel, a hand towel, and washcloth.

    • Hand soap is provided in the bathrooms. Guests should bring all other toiletries.

    • Outside food is allowed in the dorms.

    • Closest parking lot to dorm is the East Lot.

    • Room keys are your access to the dorm and suite where you are staying. Don’t lose your key! Replacement fee is $60 + $20 room access fee.

Meals

Meals will be enjoyed in the Bethel cafeteria which provides additional opportunities for connection with other conference-goers.

  • Pre-paid Meal Plan options are available at a slightly discounted rate through the registration portal.

  • Meals may be also be purchased one at a time as needed at the register.

  • On-campus coffee shops are open in the mornings until noon.

Technology on site

  • Campus-wide wifi is available.
